CALL FOR PAPERS – “American Association for Applied Linguistics-Translation, Interpretation and Language Access”
The American Association for Applied Linguistics (AAAL) is now accepting submissions for the Translation, Interpretation and Language Access (TRI) strand at its annual conference to be held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA from March 13-16, 2027. The deadline for submissions is 15 July.
The TRI strand features work that examines the cognitive, linguistic, social, cultural, political and pedagogical aspects of both formal translation and interpretation (T&I) and informal intercultural mediation. Proposals might focus on the discourse and textual analysis of formal or informal translations or interpreted interactions, including language brokering, cognitive processes, the use of corpora and other technologies in T&I, and assessment. Also of interest are issues of language access and its impact on wider language ecologies, ethics related to provision of T&I services, terminological acquisition, skill development, the use of technology in T&I, and the pedagogical training of translators and interpreters.
